My name is Rose Marie Walano, and I am a writer from New Jersey (fist pump!). In May 2010, I graduated from the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University with a degree in Journalism and Cinema Studies. I returned to NYU last fall to resume my film studies at Tisch. I am currently a web intern at Teen Vogue, but I’ve written and interned for Glamour, ELLE, ELLEgirl, W magazine, Washington Square News, Scholastic News and the late, but great, CosmoGirl.com in the past.
In the wise words of a certain frog, it’s not easy being green. Nevertheless, I’m always touched and inspired by your kind words. Thank you all so much. And for those of your who have sent criticism my way, keep it coming. I read it all and try to improve with each post. Can’t do much about the site looking a little wonky on Google Chrome, but I certainly would like to get to the bottom of that! As for those of you who have asked if you could re-post my work (with links back to me!), please do. I’m tickled pink that you like my writing enough to ask.
As a sidebar, some of you have asked how to subscribe to the site. Again, I’m flattered—and admittedly a little confused myself. Rumor has it that the orange RSS feed button—near the top of the page, under the search bar—should do the trick.
And finally, I started this blog for an online journalism class and love updating it when I can, which is why I’m looking to expand! Specifically, I’m trying to mastermind a film site as we speak. Everyone may be a critic, but I want to be a professional one, so I might as well get started. I hope you’ll join me there as well. Stay tuned, greenies!
